After taking a bus to Niterói and enduring an exhausting day, the author picked up his passport at 7:05 a.m. With the paperwork in hand, he started scrambling for flights and lodging for RailsConf.
Off-Topic: Bleeding for Rails!
With no passport appointments available in São Paulo, the author traveled to Niterói, donated blood in an anti-dengue campaign, and got an appointment with the Federal Police. RailsConf became possible again, but in a rush.
